Social Media Sites
Using social media in your career search and job hunt is essential. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other online sites connect you with thousands of people who can help you.
While joining dozens of social media sites is not recommended, make sure you’re at least active on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Once you’re using these three powerful sites, you can add others that interest you.

Facebook (Facebook has hundreds of interest groups, including many run by companies and associations. Become a fan of the groups that interest you and get active by reading other’s comments and responding to those comments)
Twitter (Increase your followers by searching for careers or interests (ex. bikes, accounting) and start following people with the same interests. Soon they’ll start following you. Tweet and re-tweet constantly but share useful information and online article links.)
Follow ProCareerSearch on Twitter.
LinkedIn (Keep your profile updated on LinkedIn; recruiters are constantly searching for talent. Did you also know that LinkedIn has tons of interest groups? Get involved with the discussions, ask and respond to questions. Share your expertise and get noticed)
Friendfeed (This is a terrific way to link all your Twitter, Facebook and other sites. Friendfield “aggregates” everything you write on the Web, letting you share the information with friends you find on the site. Saves time.)
